Pineapple: Doesn't grow on pines and isn't an apple

Pineapple may be a tasty food with an odd name, but did you know it's good for you as well? It's got Vitamin B1, Folate, Vitamin C, and Bromelain. We could call it nature's flu shot as it improves immunity. It's an anti-inflammatory so pop some instead of Tylenol. It even aids digestion and improves healing time. I guess we know why it's gold! ;) To pick a ripe pineapple look for dark green leaves, avoid soft spots, and give it a sniff. Does it smell pineapple-y? That's the one you want to take home! If you're looking for a way to integrate pineapple into your dinner plans, check out this recipe for Fresh Pineapple Salsa. It's gluten and dairy free, and Whole 30 friendly.
